ABOUT US
Texian Capital is a newly formed private credit and venture capital firm headquartered in Central Texas, founded by Curt Gaines and Abdul Subhani. The firm’s mission is to extend secured credit to financially sound borrowers, targeting asset-backed lending opportunities with low risk of default and loss. Our lending strategy is grounded in rigorous credit analysis, conservative loan-to-value ratios, and disciplined portfolio concentration limits.
We aim to raise $100 million in capital through an open-end fund structure with a minimum investment of $500,000. Investors will have the opportunity to participate in loan origination decisions, and returns will be allocated proportionally based on participation and performance of the underlying loans.

CURT GAINES
Curt brings more than 30 years of experience in community banking, with a career defined by innovation, leadership, and a deep commitment to strengthening local economies. He began as a commercial lender and most recently served as Market President and Chief Lending Officer of a $1.3 billion locally owned financial institution, where he also sat on the Board of Directors.
A graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BBA in Finance, Curt furthered his expertise at the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, completing the program in 2015. Early in his career at Citi, he developed credit analysis templates that were adopted across Texas—an early sign of the process modernization that would become a hallmark of his work. Throughout his career, he has consistently advanced credit analysis functions, streamlining systems and embedding risk management practices in four different banks.
Most recently, Curt oversaw a $560 million loan portfolio, led a team of 13 lenders and 5 credit analysts, and played a central role in shaping loan policy and compliance. He co-founded and served on the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO), developed risk-management processes and software templates, and closely monitored credit concentrations, liquidity, and documentation integrity. Under his leadership, the institution maintained exceptional credit quality—achieving a merger milestone with zero classified assets.
Beyond banking, Curt is deeply invested in his community. With a passion for economic development, he has helped local Economic Development Corporations structure innovative deals that support growth and opportunity. For nearly 20 years, he has also dedicated his time and expertise to the Boys & Girls Clubs, serving on local boards and focusing his efforts on creating positive outcomes for youth.
